Greenwood Primary School places great emphasis on pupils’ reading skills. Every learner in the school has access to the library which features a wide selection of books from fiction to non-fiction.
Each class is allocated a half-hour slot every second week where learners are able check out their books. The library is also open after school for book exchanges. The school believes that allowing learners to take books home with them teaches them responsibility, and instils a great love and appreciation for books.
The school invests in new books annually to keep up with popular trends.
As Dr Seuss says: “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
